Hi, also agree to the scheduled feeding. Dude and Cooper are fed about 7:30 a.m. and again at 5:00 p.m. Dude is a "picker" so he has learned he has about 20 minutes and then he has to wait for the next feeding. I will tell you if he doesn't eat his breakfast, he certainly finishes his dinner! I do have to watch because Cooper is a little pig and will eat his bowl and then try to help himself to some of Dude's. He has gotten pretty good when I tell him no but if he is too persistant I put him in his crate until Dude finishes his. I just have to monitor them.

I must be the worst mommie in the world...I free feed and they sleep on the couch and bed with us..about the feeding--I figured if I was hungry I would eat why not them? However they eat in the morning and late afternoon, but there is always a bowl of food out..

You should have no problem switching. When we had Bruno as an only dog, I would feed him twice a day (a mix of dry and wet food) and he wasn't really interested in food and just kind of took his time eating, sometimes not finishing his food. Since there was meat in it, I would take it up after about a half-hour and throw it out.) But now with Belle around I feed them at the same time with two bowls and he's sure to eat all of his food quickly (so she can't have any of his). He probaby eats more now too cause he needs his energy keeping up with her. I swear he's gained 5-10 pounds since we got her. Not a fatty, just doesn't have his slender little waistline like he used to. They make quite a pair - she's all tall and sleek and he's like a 50-pound hippo.
