If two brindles are bred, and the father (who is brindle came from a fawn mother and brindle father, ) is it possible to have some fawn puppies? Just curious, I was under the impression that it is possible because the fawn gene is present in the father.

The fawn gene would have to be present in both the father *and* the mother, fawn is recessive so a double dose is needed for the dog to exhibit the fawn color. But, yes, if two brindle dogs who each had a fawn gene were bred, it is possible to get fawn puppies (and happens frequently :)).

Contrarily, two fawns bred will never produce a brindle.
