I just found these treats at Pet Supermarket. Minxie goes bonkers over them, they are dried sliced chicken breast. The name of them is just Chicken Breast Tenders. They are made from 100% chicken breast, low in fat, no additives, 100% natural, and no preservatives. They are endorsed by the American Canine Association, and made by Pet Center Inc. They run about $11.00 for a pound. Minxie gets so excited when she sees me go for the bag. She barks and does circles. That from her is amazing, she is so picky about everything she eats!

Yep, chicken jerky. If you buy a dehydrator you can make them yourself. I have a dehydrator that I bought for $11 at Wal-Mart and make chicken jerky, beef jerky, dried sweet potatoes, etc (nothing on them just plain) and my dogs love them and it's MUCH cheaper than buying in the store and the machine does all the work LoL.

Wow! I gotta get one of them...those treats are really expensive...My babies usually get Canidae Snap biscuits or the Innova treats. I occasionally will get the Happy Hips Duck Jerkey...they love that stuff and it has Glucosamine in it!!

Look at your local Target, Wal-Mart, K-Mart, etc store or do a search online. I admit, there ARE better dehydrators on the market than mine but hey it was $11 and is now 5 years old. I make treats for the dogs, dried fruit for me and my son, healthy fruit roll ups for my son (made from geletin and yogurt), beef jerky for my family, it has been AWESOME, especially for what I paid and that it has lasted. So, you definitely don't *need* to get an industrial strength one. Just a cheap one, some zip lock baggies, and some time (it does take me about a day to do dried meats).

They also sell the exact same thing at Sam's Club in a bigger package. We buy a 3 pound bag for $14! They used to only be $11, but like everything else lately, have jumped in price. They are still a great value at under $3 per pound.

My Mom's BF has a Sam's membership, I will ask to him to pick up some next time he is there for his Grand-Minxie. Thanks!

Thanks, I will look into a dehydrator also. I have no spare time now with the kid's out of school, ack!

Great advice

I am really trying to figure out what it good to give to Lucy and what not to give to her.

What is good for training new pups?
I did find these little training treats at our local pet boutique and she seems to like them, but I just don't want to start giving her all kinds of different things and upsetting her little tummy.

Some trainers swear by liver treats, made from the real liver, you would cook up. I am not sure if they boil it or cook it in a frying pan though. I could never stomach the smell of liver cooking (gag), so unfortunately mine never got it.
