Family Christmas Cards.....

Last year was the first year with the two new additions, a boxer and kitten. I had Christmas cards made of each of them and to family and close personal friends I sent these pictures out. So, seeing that the time is upon us again I was wanting opinions. I would love for this to be a tradition as I love my girls and love showing them off but on the other hand, how sane is it to send out pictures of your animals?? Yes, they are my children. And I get lots of people including pics of their skin children to me in their cards or ones like I had made last year that are like a post-card type card.

This may sound mean but in all honesty, I don't really care for the pictures of skin children, I always toss them after Christmas. I feel terrible even telling anyone that I do this. So, I just have to assume that some are feeling the same if I start sending out pictures of my dog and cat! I know that I am an evil mean person...LOL

I don't send any of these type cards out to people that don't have pets. But there again, they are not sending me pics of their animals just their skin kids.

I send out more traditional type cards to people that don't have animals, or are not animal lovers.

Opinions anyone??

I think it is nice for people to see your furchildren. Especially when they force upon you their skin children. (I prefer furbabies! Can you tell?)

We had our family picture made (me, husband, and boxer Lambeau) and made them into Christmas cards. I am sending those out to everyone I would normally send a Christmas card to. I think it is nice to let people know what is going on in your life, even if that includes a pet picture!!

We may not be the best people to ask if you're looking for "sane".. That being said, I would way rather see someone's dog on a card than anything else! I see things like that as a great expression of your personality, and if doggie is #1 in your house (like he is in mine), then by all means put him on your card!

By the way, our "family" Christmas cards feature Willis the Reindog.

If I had no skin children I would send out cards with my animals. No doubt about that.
BUT, I do have skin kids, so I am planning on sending a card with the skin kids and all the animals! It should be a riot, we have:
1. Cisco-boxer
2.Sadie-pomeranian
3.Prince- min pin
4.rabbit
5.2 mice
6.Sassy the cat
7.Skin daughter 6 yrs
8.Skin son 1 1/2 yrs
Can you imagine the chaos it will show! Oh well, that's my family!

we send out a family photo every year at christmas, -- the first year it was just buttercup and last year it was my husband, me, buttercup, and tessie, and it is the same this yr it is all 4 of us. in fact i made my own this yr with card stock and just have to make some labels and they should be put in the mail this week i am so excited.

I alway send out cards that include both my kids and my animals. Everybody seems to like them, if not oh well, I like them!
