Faking a Limp

Well Kneesaa has decided that she was very upset with how much her mommy and daddy were gone over the Christmas weekend. Mind you I felt awful that we couldn't bring her and Buu with us to our families houses.
Well Christmas eve night she started limping around the house. At first I was very concerned, seeing as it was Christmas eve and the vets wouldn't be open until Monday. I was rubbing her back right paw everywhere, but she didn't make a squeek.
So I monitored her all night.
It was quite amazing how she only limped when she knew I was watching her. She would run and smash her paws around playing with Buu, but then limp past me.
As in, the minute she knew I was watching she'd limp, she actually messed up and limped with the wrong paw, but quickly corrected herself.
She has pulled this before, when we first got Buu, she was limping around on her front paw, so I brought her to the vet, and it was a miracle, she was all the sudden fine. They told me she was faking!
This makes it oh so easy for me to know if she's actually hurt herself :rolleyes:
Does anyone elses boxer do this?

I have never heard of this. But thank you..I am still laughing. I can just picture my furbaby doing that. I know it was not funny when you thought Kneesha was hurt. That little stinker! Making you worry. She knows she is loved otherwise she would have thought of something else to get your attention.

I have heard of this. It was my cat that actually did it to me the first time. I think they are more likely to do it if you fuss over them when they are hurt. They like the attention.
Glad she's OK.

.. i'm heard of dogs faking limps before. my moms boyfriends dog actually hurt leg and she realized how much attention she got from it so after she got better she started faking limps..

Just had to reply to this thread My babes have never faked a limp but when we first got Titus, I was very protective over him. I was afraid that during playtime, Lexi would step on him and hurt him. They did play a little too hard sometimes and Titus would yelp out loud. Of course I came to his rescue so one day, I caught on to what he was doing...whenever they would play, after awhile, he would yelp and then look for me to come in and fuss at Lexi. I couldn't believe the little booger! He wasn't hurt at all, just faking hurt. He was using me and then watching as I fussed at Lexi. Well, that stopped real quick. They're too funny.

I've seen it! Our baby, Belle, has been guilty of this in the past. She doesn't like people walking by the house - one neighborhood kid in particular, and one day she got so excited about it, she (somehow) tore off a rear toenail! It was terrible, and we had trouble getting the bleeding to stop, but finally, it did, and we kept it bandaged, blah, blah, blah. Well, we KNOW it is a painful injury, and she limped for a few days. Soon, though, she would see someone go past the house, and BOOM, it was just like before - sprinting towards the door, rearing up on her hind legs, giving everyone heck...until she saw us watching her, then it was back down on all fours, laying the ears back, giving us the "wounded face", and hopping on 3 legs. Once, I even caught her picking up the UNinjured foot and hopping! My hubby swore I was nuts, until he saw it for himself. It's a sight to see!

Finally someone else with this experience so I know I am not crazy!! I posted almost this same thread a while back, Aspen had actually hurt her paw and Mason not liking that his sis was gettign extra attention began to limp.. My grandma and I took him to the vet, when the vet asked which paw in usion my grandma said left and I said right.. Apparently Mason couldn't remember which paw was hurt, so we both saw him limping on different paws. After a thorough check up the vet declared him a big faker!!!
