Eye Stye??!!

My 6 month old has just recently got a red LARGE bump on his eyelid. Could it be a stye?? What is a stye?? How long will it last, or should I take him to the vet to be removed? It just popped up within a day's time... Has anyone been in this situation? What do you think????

It could also be a pimple. Markus would get them on his eyelids sometimes. You just have to wait for them to go away. If it really seems to be bothering him, I would take him to the vet.

Earlier this summer Rocky had a bump on his eyelid and I asked the vet about it and she said it is probably a bug bite and to call her if it was not gone in a couple days...it disappeared very quickly! Maybe it is something simple?

Thanks for the replies-- I dont think its a pimple though..It is huge!! a little over a centimeter big, I would guess.. Its also not red anymore, but more purple in color now. I hope it goes away. He had a bump on his eye lid when he was about 6 weeks old, but it went away within a few weeks, but this one seems to be triple it's size. I guess Ill give it a week or so, if it doesnt go down, I'll take him to the vet.
