Eye poop

As we are new to owning boxers we dont know all that much about them, hopefully some of you experts can give us piece of mind. Our male Jinx seems to always have alot of yellow eye matter coming out his eyes. The vet says it is sometime typical of boxers. Do any of your's have this problem? If so is there anything that we can do to stop it?

Yep it happens, I just try to keep Cashs' face clean... Heactually sits in front of me, nub a wigglin when I say "Let's clean your face"

Weizen definitely gets those eye boogers! I just usually wipe his face with a warm towel. It's the cutest thing when they wake up with eyes full of boogers and look up at you with big innocents eyes and a big wigglin butt.

If you do a search for "eye AND discharge" you'll get lots of threads on this topic. You probably have the basic Boxer eye goop but I know I have read some discussions regarding some other problems (ie. Infections, etc.) that could cause this. I am sure you'll find good info!!

carmella has eye poop, too! i'm just like a typical mom - always wipping her face. she doesn't seem to mind.....

Jersey used to have this problem really bad every morning when he woke up. So I always kept Kleenex on top of his crate for morning eye wipes. I was told the problem would eventually lesson and it did. He is almost 9 months now and barely any mornings he wakes up he has boogies in his eyes.
Just on the odd occasion.

i wash tank's face every day.... he has the eye boogers if i don't. he loves the face washing almost as much as he loves the tub. sometimes it's a struggle to keep the washcloth until i'm done cleaning around his eyes.... he tries to play tug of war with the thing.:rolleyes:

Powder has them also. I just usually use a kleenex and wipe them off. After a few times she got used to it. That way if you clean it off first they won't wipe it on something else. :D
