Eye Discharge

How much eye "boogies" does your boxer get. Went to the vet this week and asked him about it, he said it's part of the breed and Soco's eyes looked good and healthy. I'm just wondering how much do you think is too much, how much is normal. Soco has it when she gets up from sleeping, and usually after a good long walk. The vet said that teething could have something to do with it, which I've also read. How often/how much does your pup get the "eye boogies"?

LOL...mine have a little eye snot daily.....I watch for colors and crusties ....

Sounds normal for a pup. They get less as they get older.

Hurley always has eye boogers when she gets up from the night or from a nap, and also from a walk or long play! It is just a clear color though.. no color or crusties!

As both my dogs gew older the eye burgers sort of faded. I remember cleaning their face daily. Now I may do it once a month. My boys are 1 yr 3 months and about 1 year now

Thanks for the insights, I have read that the boogies fade with age. It has become habit for me to wipe Soco's eyes but DW is always concerned with them and keeps wondering if they are going to get worse. Her Aunt and Uncle had a dog (not a boxer) who had the worse eye discharge problem, it looked like Coby was always crying. I guess she's just concerned that will be what Soco will be like for life.
