Boxer Pal
I have a 7 month old boxer boy. I know that boxers are known for a lot of aggressive playing but Rufus seems to not know when to stop. We had a friend and his 7 month old boxer over to our house a few nights ago and they played and played. But when his dog tried to stop or walk away Rufus would chase after him and jump on him. I stepped in and seperated them a few times but I had to sit and hold him by his collar. As soon as I let go he would just go right after teh other dog again. Well we have been invited to a dog park in a neighboring city this weekend with two of our friends adn their boxers. I don't know if we should go and if we do what can I do to stop him from playing like a mad man? It feels like no matter how much exercise he gets he is still a ball of energy when he is around other dogs. I don't know what to do. Please Help.

I try to run the energy out of Dozer begfore he goes to playdates so he isn't over active. We throw him a frisbee or play fetch before we leave and he's pretty good. You just need to continue to pull your dog away and give him little time outs when you feel like he is being bothersome and he'll eventually get it. Same goes with the dogpark, sometimes there is so much going on there that it works out fine even if your dog is hyper!

The dog park sounds like just what your baby needs, lots and lots of play time. You also may want to consider group training so your dog learns to listen to you even with other dogs tempting him.
