Everything is out to get him!

I don't know if they grow out of this or what but Bentley seems to think everything is sinister! He was growling and lunging at a plastic bag this morning that he was making move by growling at it. Yesterday he thought a leaf on a piece of brick was going to get him as well. If we go out on garbage night all the big garbage cans are evil doers. We do not go anywhere near the pink tricycle down the block! He goes everywhere with us and seems to be exposed to new things but still, everything is out to get him! Do they grow out of this or is he destined to be a scaredy cat for the rest of his life?

Oh yeah - we're in that stage too. Sam barks and lunges at teh PHONE when it rings unexpectedly - which is all the time. LOL. too funny right?

It's a puppy thing. I try to show Kona what things are that scare her. This morning she was growling in the dark at a shirt I had hanging to dry in the middle of the guest room from the ceiling fan. I turned on the light and laid the shirt on the bed so she could examine it. She approached is cautiously and as soon as she sniffed it her mannerism changed from cautious to "Oh is that all that is" and she started wiggling her tail. She has done the same thing with bags blowing in the yard.

I have an 11 week old and he is doing that a little, I'm always trying to figure out what he is growling at now.

Cissy is almost 3 and anything she doesn't recognize is her mortal enemy Trash bags on the curb-how dare they sit there and just taunt her like that!! A plastic bag flying down the street-- oh my,it did not get the queen's permission to cross her path!! She'll bark at whatever it is and then she howls!! Sometimes I think I have a beagle instead of a boxer

Wheww! Glad to know that Macon isn't the only boxer that thinks the garbage cans are out to get her! She hasn't done it lately, so maybe they do outgrow it?

I think Girlie is going through this too! Her biggest enemy is a clean garbage bag when I am putting it in the trash can. She hates that mean bag!

Both of my dogs did that when they were young. We always thought it was funny for them to bark and pounce (sp) on a grocery bag. They really thought it was going to get them. It will probably pass, it has with mine.

Kilbane lunges at plastic bags also. He'll start to bark and then chase the leaf blowing across the yard. His newest thing is a soft single bark when he hears a door bell regardless if it's the TV or the real deal. I'd just like for him to stop when it's the TV, but I do like the security since we're not in the greatest of neighborhoods. Now that I think about him can Bark or Gurr at a door bell all he wants.
