Update
Hey all - so this is what happened.
Rodney (named after Rodney Carrington) is neutered, with a shiny smile (thanks to Dr. Volk) and UTD on all shots. He also got his UKC registration.
His horrible ex-owner (the wife) saw Rod and I at Wal*Mart and threw a fit. She said I stole the dog, blah blah blah, going to call the cops, blah blah blah. Her soon-to-be-ex husband said 'Rachel, I don't know what your talking about, this isn't Shaggy'. I said 'Sorry, Ma'am, this is Rodney' and walked away.
No, I never called the breeder - here's why.
While working at the Spay and Neuter Clinic, I noticed an old eskie in a cage. She had been hit by a car. The owners came in and we started talking. They had been given her ($200 later) by a breeder once the dog had finished nursing a litter. (this was 2 years ago). Her name had been changed to Serria, but they didn't remember the old name. A few weeks after they got her, she went into heat again (they think, didn't know) and they called the breeder to find out which vet she used. She informed them she wanted the dog back to breed with her neighbor's Pit mix. I asked them the name of the breeder, and low and behold - it was Rodney's breeder! The last litter Serria ever had (at 10 years old) was my little Rodney's. We figured that out because they got the dog the end of May, when the pups were 8 weeks old. Rod was born end of March. Same breeder, only female she had at the time.
So miracles work in odd ways huh? Rodney knows his mom, loves his family, and never will see that unethical breeder again.
BTW - he likes to go 4 wheeling!
