I seriously think this is going to help so many of you. Read it through with an open mind & give it a chance. Some may be skeptical & call it holistic. Call it what you may, but I believe it works. I much prefer this to putting my boxer on drugs. My vet has checked it out & he's intrigued & approves.
My 3 year old boxer Rocky has had 8 "episodes" since Thanksgiving. Seemed like seizures, but they all occured at dog parks after moments of excitement-treeing squirrel, chasing cat, etc. None of the episodes occured laying around the house. He's had two blood draws. Heart, liver, & thyroid checked out ok. We're keeping a specific log of the events. However, since I found the above site I switched from lamb/rice Natural Balance to Potato/Duck Natural Balance (which is one food he recommends, among others) & Rocky has been episode free ever since! I'm still nervous that these episodes aren't seizures, but rather cardiac syncope. They only last about 5 seconds with about a 20 second recovery. He'll be running, fall on his side, kick his legs for a couple seconds, stop breathing, eyes glaze over, go limp, wake up & slowly get his bearings back & be fine. Scary stuff to see...
Anyways, I know a lot of you have had seizure experiences with your boxers. I'd like for you all to check out this site because it primarily covers food allergies & epilepsy. It's so much better to let your beautiful dogs live their lives healthy & without valium, phenobarb, etc. Check it out! BTW, John (the vet) is a very nice man & he answers back usually within a day or two if you shoot him an e-mail. Good luck!
