Hi,
Had to reply since your dog & I have the same name - only problem is that I'm a very dark haired brunette!!! Mom & Dad thought the name was cute so I am told.
Anyway, since she's a strong chewer (both our dogs are too - 2 year old Mastiff "Tango" & 9 1/2 month Boxer "Dempsey), I'd suggest these:
- Nylabone or Kong black rubber toys (this are labeled for strong or aggressive chewers). We have a # of these and they work great and can easily be washed after the "boys" have given them a workout.
- Greenies are supposed to work well too, we haven't tried them since our Mastiff is very allergic to many things and we want to avoid giving him something that may cause a flare
- Soup/marrow bones are very good. We'll get a package or two of the marrow bones that have been sawn into sections about 2" thick, wrap each in aluminum foil and then store them in a Ziplock bag in the freezer. When you decide to give her a bone, you can either take it out and let it thaw a bit or run some warm water on it. By freezing the bones, we always have a new "chewy" to give them for variety and they last a bit longer too since they have to work a bit harder to get the "good stuff" (marrow) out.
- If she likes carrots, get a few of the very big ones that are generally sold separately by the lb. and pretty much used only for juicing since they're a bit woody/dry based on their size. We give them these only outside since they tend to be a bit messier than a bone.
