Glad you were able to attend the seminar.

For the benefit of some of our members who may not know, could you post again (a reply to this thread would be good), explaining who she is, her credentials, etc., and some of what you learned at the seminar? That would be very nice. I'm sure we would all be fascinated and grateful for more good information on our boxer friends.

Thanks.

I didn't know who she was BEFORE the seminar, but learned soon after....

She explained the Boxer Standard - height, weight, ear cropping, she into details such as measurements of the nose, compared to the bridge of the nose, how the head should be. She explained the importance of proper measurements - how the boxer is perfectly proportioned to maintain quick movements and strong strides... It was just awsome to hear someone speak on the standards and why there are standards.

She explained how the measurements of the jaw were important to proper chewing, breathing - it was all just amazing.

She talked for about an hour and one-half!

There were people from Boxer Club of Arizona there to meet and greet people and tell them info. about breeders and rescue.

I didn't get to meet any other rescue groups.

The seminar was quite informative and Ellie Wood was a hoot! Very matter of fact with her answers. Such a wealth of information. As she has been breeding Boxers for 39 years, you can imagine the depth of her information. Ellie illustrated the Boxer standard used by the AKC. I must say she is quite the artist! Ellie has been a handler, breeder and judge. Her kennels are Merrilane Kennels.

Overall, it was worth attending. Luckily, humans are not kept to AKC standards or we would all be considered faulty :)

I was on the far right side (looking down from the top) and my husband and daughter were with me (but they got bored and went into the library!)
