I bring my boxer on the road with me in the truck, and recently he started to chew on everything. My wallet (ate my drivers licence) ....my CD collection, ...a can of root beer (causing it to fizz all over the truck)... the turn signal lever....a sneaker.....baseball cap.. There lots more I'd rather not think about it- (c:

I finally bought him a nice big cage so he can't chew on anything but his bones and chew toys! (better late than never)

There is a good chance he is board and is trying to release some pent up energy. Is there a way you can take him for a long walk before putting him in the truck with you. By truck i am assuming you drive a big rig? If you don't mean big rig same still goes I know you would be on a time schedule but they really need lots of exercise or they do get distructive unfortunately. Also maybe taking a kong or another toy that requires him to think would be good while your driving. And something for him to do at a rest area like chase a ball or play tug with a rope, or just wrestling with him.

Just some thoughts. I know your furbaby enjoys being with you and its awesome that he is able to go.

I'd 2nd Nala's recommendations. You could also take a raw meaty bone if you're able to cover your seat with a blanket or towel so it wouldn't get too messy. Stuffed Kongs are GREAT and you can put less messy things in them. I'd also highly suggest a dog seatbelt if you don't crate just for everyone's safety in case you were in an accident.
