Editing an existing PDF file

My sister in law sent me a PDF file to edit and use as my own. However, I don't know how to get in and make the necessary changes. Any suggestions?

I think (not sure at all) you need the paid version of Acrobat Reader from Adobe (http://www.adobe.com) to edit it. The free version only allows you to read PDF files.

You need adobe acrobat writer

To edit PDF files, my understanding is that you need Adobe Acrobat Writer. Acrobat reader is only for reading PDFs.
