Does anyone elses puppy eat grass while they are outside? Bubba also looks for rocks to carry around in his mouth. Are both of these things normal? Just wondering.

I have never seen Tobee carry rocks around, but then again, there really isn't rocks in our yard.

Tobee does eat grass. Sometimes it looks like he is grazing like a cow. He has never gotten sick because of it, and if he likes it, I don't mind. Jake will even eat grass every now and then:D

Most dogs eat grass. It is a fairly normal behavior

Mine eat it, but seemingly for different reasons. Susie will eat grass and immediately throw up. She does this when she has an upset tummy and it clears her tummy of what's bothering it, I presume. She's just fine afterwards.

Maggie eats it all the time, but I think she just likes the taste or texture of it. It tickles her or something. She doesn't throw it up, but it just comes out the other end later.

There are all kinds of theories as to why dogs eat grass, but don't worry too much about it. It isn't some freaky abnormality. :)

Casey will also eat grass when she has an upset stomach. She usually throws it back up within minutes. As far as the rocks go, She will nudge them with her nose and pounce on them. She used to try to pick them up but we put a stop to that. All I could think of was her swallowing a smaller rock.

Oh boy, Phoebe eats grass ALL THE TIME! She started when she was just a puppy, we'd take her for walks and she'd just lean over and take a mouthful of someone's lawn (or flowers) as we'd stroll by. We were concerned at first, but she's never gotten sick from it, and she hasn't grown out of it either.

We ran into a slight problem one time when a lawn care company came by and sprayed our lawn without leaving those little "warning" signs behind. Phoebe got a little sick, but after a visit with the vet we aren't positive if it was caused by the fertilizer/weed killer or not. One thing for sure, the lawn care company got an earful from me for not leaving behind any signs that they'd been there! (sorry, didn't mean to digress)

So glad to read this post. Corky eats grass everytime we go to the track and I've been wondering if she had an upset stomach or something. She never throws it up so I won't worry so much anymore.
