Eating toilet paper

Kody seems to be obsessed with toilet paper and kleenex - any chance he gets he sneaks into the bathroom. We try to remember to keep the door closed, but the kids don't always remember.
Anyone else have this problem with their boxer?
Any suggestions?

Ohh Blizzy was the toilet paper queen!! Toilet paper, napkins, paper towels, feminie pads..(THAT one grossed me out )

The vet suggested putting cologne or perfume on the garbage..thinking the taste would deter her..umm nope, she seemed to like the fragrent garbage better. I tried everything and nothing worked.

The only solution for my girl was making 100% sure that none of her favorite snacks were available, I just shut the bathroom door. What I never thought of (slapping self in head NOW) is a covered garbage can..one you have to step on to have the lid lift..

Gosh... dogs love that stuff.

As I type this, my sister is prying a Kleenex Diesel has nabbed out of my waste basket in the bathroom...they just love the stuff...all dogs...who knows. Maybe because it really smells like us or it feels funny in their mouths and they can sit and shred it super easily. Every dog I have ever had has been into the soft fluffy stuff. Diesel has probably swallowed quite bit in his 3.5 years and has always passed it without problems...knock on wood. Just keep on eye on Kody and make sure he does develop an intestinal blockage from ingesting too much.

Great post... I haven't figured this one out yet. I just have to keep the tp in the closet and hope I remember to grab it when I need it. I luckily have a cabinet that I can keep the bathroom trash in. And my kitchen trash stays in the pantry closet. If I ever leave any paper product within reach, it's history.

Well, I am glad to hear that Kody isn't the only one to do this...
I love the covered garbage idea (can't believe I never thought of this - duh! )
He has also had his share of used female treats - YUCK - and that can get quite embarassing when you have company over -

My boxer had never been interested in this until we got our new cockerspaniel puppy! The puppy started grabbing the toilet paper off the holder & chewing it up & throwing soggy, half chewed bits all over the house.
Dallas (our boxer) thought that this was a great idea so she joined in the fun too! Mine dont eat it though, just shred it & spread it! It's amazing how quickly they can get through an entire roll of toilet paper!

LOL! This post made me think of the story I heard long ago about models eating toilet paper so they would lose weight.

Oh God, Dexter is the KING of TP eating...!!! I can't keep tp on the "roll" as it is supposed to be, I have to sit it on top of my medicine cabinet, and grab it as I need it. I have to warn my house guests, to grab the tp first, before they "go"... !!!

And when I mow my yard it sometimes looks like a ticker tape parade!!!! All the digested tp goes flying!!! oh gezzz..... I love my boxer!!!!

And he loves paper products... tp, bills, money... he's eaten all of them...
