We are having a problem with Rocky, 7 months old, going in the yard eating the grass and then of course throwing it up. Any advice.

Eating the grass isn't causing the upset stomach - dogs eat grass when their stomach is already upset, so you need to figure out what is causing his stomach to be upset - maybe he needs a different food, or more of the same food, or the same amount but spaced out so he eats more frequently. Many dogs get upset stomachs simply from their stomach being empty. Does he do it at a particular time of day? If it's in the night, first thing in the morning, or another time when it's been a while since he's eaten, it's a good indication that he's going to long between meals - a "snack" can help. What is the vomit like? If he's actually throwing up food, the food he's eating probably doesn't agree with him. If it's a small amount of foamy or yellow liquid, that's the empty stomach.

well.. snatch seems to enjoy eating grass... :D

he play with the grass, hops in it and finally lays down and eat it.. i don't know if it's because his stomack is upset....

he loves taking a big bunch of grass in his mouth and runs around like crazy....

Evie and Adam only eat grass when the lawn is too long. (usually when its so long it starts to seed). Guess they are telling me its time to cut the grass.

My 9 month old has been doing the same thing. Every mornng the first thing she does is go out to the back yard and eat grass and throw up. It's always just grass and foam..........Now I feed her later in the evening and try to get her to eat something as soon as we get up in the morning. It seems to be working.

Tae occasionally "tries" to eat grass during our evening walk, which is before her dinner. I probably need to give her a treat or two before heading out on the walk. I say she "tries" to eat grass b/c with the way her mouth is shaped and her teeth are laid out, she can't seem to get a good grasp on the grass to bite it off. I'm not sure how much she really injests, but it's kinda funny to watch! Anyone else's Boxer have trouble actually biting the grass off to swallow?
