Eating from the cats litter box!

My puppy Kovu is always going into the cats litter box and eating from it.It is disgusting!!!Is there anything I can do to stop this?There is really no where else to put the litter box where Kovu can't get into it.Please help.

This problem has been address MANY times here at BW. Your best bet is to do a search on litter box.

But, we had to totally move the litter box in our house. Apparently cat food is yummy to dogs even after it's been THRU the cat! :rolleyes: We simply moved the litter box and installed a cat door on the room it's in so the cats could come and go as they please.

If that isn't an option can you at least place it up high somewhere that Kovu can't reach but kitty can? Good luck!

BrindleB-The reason they eat from kitty boxes is cuz(this is GROSS)the poo has lots of minerals and vitamins in it! YUCK:eek:
I had a lab that would do it all the time, we had a cover thing over our kittens box, and he would still get in it! Maybe it's a delicasy(sp) to them! We ended up turning the kitties box around, and he still snuck in every once in a while!:rolleyes:

our mugsy has been caught eating kitty roca as well we just put a babygate on the door that the box is in

Heidi always seems to sneak into the litter box at my MIL's house. It is very gross especially when she comes out with cat litter all over her muzzle.:( Our only hope for her is to close the door where the litter box is while we visit!!!!!!!!!!
