My wife and I have 4 persian cats and a boxer
My boxer is a little more than 4 months old. About a week ago he started getting in the cat litter and eating what the cats left behind(yuck). Is this normal? What can I do to stop it?

Thanks for the help

both my pups are attacked to the kitty box. I placed the box in the downstairs- fairly unused bathroom- then put up a baby gate. Then, any time they approached the gate I told them no. Now, they pretty much just ignore the cat box. I've had the gate down a few times with no snacking, but as a rule the gate stays up.

Abigail is doing this too... I think she waits for Tig to leave a present in the littler box and she runs in there for choculate yum..yum.. It's gross... She watches the litter box sooo... I have to keep a close eye on it and scoop it out before she gets to it... Does anyone know why they do this?

It's normal. My vet calls it eating "kitty crunches". I put the litter box facing the wall in the corner, with just enough room for the cat to get in. That's what worked for me.

Thanks for the help. I think I will try putting the opening of the box towards the wall. I hope that works.
