Easy Walk Harness He Hates IT

We bought Chico the Easy Walk Harness about a month ago because he can wiggle his way out of his collar while on the leash. Very dangerous when out walking or in parking lots. So I thought the harness would fix this problem. Well he hates it. I eased him into it by laying it on the floor and letting him eventually wear it. He wore it fine for the first few times. I just let him wear it without putting a leash on him. Now when I get it out he runs like it's a game of hide and seek. I really thing for his safety he needs this. He has free fun of 1 acre, but I like taking him on walks around the neighborhood with me and the kids. I just don't feel safe with regular collar. We have lots of children around and I'm sure if I don't have him properly secured, someone will say something. How do I get him to let me put this thing back on him. I have tried treats and letting him sniff it, he just runs like you and what army are going to put that thing on me. Any suggestions?

Ruby doesn't like her harness either. She knows she will be going out when she sees it and gets excited but trying to get it on her is difficult, I have been persevering with treats. Hopefully it will get easier, good luck!

Oh I'm quite chuffed then as Lola willingly steps into hers for me, I hold it and she steps each paw in.

Yes, Zoey puts her paws in the right places on her harness, too! But then, she has had once since she was about 4 or 5 months old. I never gave her a chance I just put it on her, and that was that!

We have the easy walk too, Muggsy did not like it too much at first but grown to like it. We have been using for about 6 months. When I get it out he runs to the front door becuase he knows it is walking time. One problem we have noticed is that it kind of rubs the hair on his front legs/shoulders and the skin is kind of rough there.
