After Jayda's nine week check up at the vet on Saturday we all went to PetSmart to pick up a few things. The Easter Bunny was there and the pics were only 6.95 with the proceeds going to helping animals without homes. Plus it came in a too cute frame. Well Tugga seen the bunny and ran up to check him out and he just started freakin out. I have never seen him this way with anyone ever. He was barking, growling, jumping, just getting out of control. I don't know if it was the big head with the long ears or what but he did NOT like the easter bunny at all. But Jayda will go with anyone no matter what so we ended up just getting her pic done while her brother got his nails clipped. I was just wondering if any of your babies have problems with costume people? As soon as that mean old bunny was out of sight he was the sweet little Tugga we've always known, beaning and licking everyone that would let him. It was weird.

I also went to PetSmart on Saturday and saw the Easter Bunny. I had Buster's picture taken, but he wasn't that happy about it either. I thought that was weird too because he loves when Santa is there. He will practically sit on Santa's lap, but he didn't really want to go near that tall white thing with the big head. I thought it was the person inside because he really wasn't interacting with the pets too well, but maybe it was the costume. Maybe Tugga just didn't like that first impression of the bunny. Come to think of it, he is pretty scary looking! My three year old didn't want anything to do with him.

Your dog's reaction may depend on what they have seen before and may or may not be comfortable with.
Gazou greeted all the trick o treaters that came by this year, he had a blast and it was a great way to socialize him with all kinds of people all dressed very differently. When we saw the Easter bunny this weekend he went right up to him and didn't mind getting petted by him. The one thing he did try to do was snatch that cute little pink bunny tail!! I'm sure he was convinced there was a squeaky in there!!:)

OMG Trinity would not go near this Easter bunny last weekend! I waited in this long line, she did so well sitting patiently and saying hi to some new friends she's made. Well it was our turn next and we got about halfway up to the bunny and she flipped out!!! She started woo woo'ing at him and jumping around like a crazy nut! I even went up to the bunny and was petting him telling her it was ok, she wouldn't have any part of it! Mommy was so sad that Trin wouldn't let us get a picture of her. Oh well maybe next year!

Roxy does not know what to think of the easter bunny. She firmly planted her feet at the bottom of the stairs and refused to go any closer. I had to settle for easter bunny pictures with my two ferrets :)

Kikka and I went on Saturday too. She absolutely loved the Easter Bunny. She about licked him to death. She practicaly climb up in his lap. In her picture she's smiling ear to ear. She was the same with Santa too.

When my daughter first moved home with Beamer, her boxer/mix, he freaked out the first time he seen me half nekkid in a towel and one wrapped around my head. (does that count as a costume?)

I felt so bad, I just wanted to cry. It was a very traumatic moment. I thought to myself, I might be scary, but at least I don't smell like a dog! :D

i wish we had a petsmart closer to us, by the time we get to one the girls need water and need to pee :) so they don't get to go. they have been once and loved it, buttercup met a old black lab that just ran freely around the biulding (it was the trainers dog) she loved him :)

i'm sorry your babies didn't like the easter bunny and that is too funny about your daughters dog being afraid of u in your towel :) our rescue is afraid of my husband if he is wearing a hat.

I can just picture Gazou going after the tail! I'm sure it was a hoot to watch.:)
