Jagger is getting his ears done today. I love him either way but my husband wants them done. I am so worried about him. Any advice on the first few days.

I just wanted to wish Jagger well. I'm sure he'll do great. :D You'll have to post some pics of his new look once they heal. I don't have any advice since mine have natural ears.

Sundance had his ears cropped and the best thing I did was stay home with him to keep him from scratching and ripping out his stitches. Needless to say, between that and watching for bathroom breaks, I was following him around all day. It was worth it to me, because I did keep him from scratching and I was there to comfort him and keep him busy. Maybe I was there so he could comfort me. Also, he never seemed to be in pain, just confused on why all this stuff was on his head.

How long did you stay home with him? We will be home with him all weekend. Our vet does not wrap them until the stitches are out and healed. He said this method seems to work best in his experience. He uses laser and said this procedure is so much better now with the laser.

It was 2 1/2 days of watching him carefully before I felt comfortable with leaving him in his crate. His ears are beautiful and when he is really alert, they touch together at the tips.

I picked him up, they were not nearly as bad as I had been told by others. He is already wanting to run around the yard, you would think it didn't faze him. I just hope we get past the scratching thing without it being too bad.

Wow, Laser seems to be the way to go! My puppy was queasy from the anesteshia, it took her a couple of days to get back to her regular self. Is the after care different for lasered ears? I am glad to hear Jagger is doing well - he is such a cutie!

He is doing WONDEFUL!!! I have to say it didn't phase him. The only thing that irritates him is when we put the suave on it. I don't think it hurt, I think it annoys him. He is running around like nothing has happened. Laser is the way to go. They is very little bleeding, if any. I am glad we did it.
