OK, guys....here is my question. I am wondering if anyone out there could tell me if this is normal or if I'm just being paranoid. My girl, Sophie, was bred 2 weeks ago. So, I'm not for sure if she is actually pregnant because it is too early, but her demeanor changed as soon as I brought her home. She is sleeping all the time, not eating very well, and has thrown up a few times (clear liquid). Does this sound normal to ya'll? Also, I am concerned because I have noticed a little bit of clear/milky discharge every now and then and I was wondering if this might just be the tail end of her heat or if I should be concerned about pyometra? I am scheduled to take her to the vet in 2 weeks to be palpatated, but I'm wondering if she needs to be checked out before that. Anyone with suggestions or previous experience with this? This will be my first litter. Thanks ya'll!

Hi Sophiesmom -

Breeding is a very sensitive subject here on Boxerworld. Please read the Rules, regarding things that are not allowed to be discussed on this site:

Discussion of breeding practices that would be deemed by most to be unethical or irresponsible. This includes, but is not limited to: breeding white boxers; breeding young dogs; breeding untested dogs; breeding for any purpose other than to improve the breed and/or your line). If you wish to post about your breeding program on this site, you need to be prepared to provide evidence of the health testing undertaken.

and

Only breeders doing health tests and participating on BW can mention their site and/or breeding program on the board". Send email to if you fit these conditions and only after approval you are authorized to post your link.

So (for future reference), if you would like to post about it on Boxerworld, you need to first send copies of the test results to the site owner. Scanned copies by email will be fine. :)

More information on the health tests can be obtained at: www.boxerworld.com/health_testing

A milky discharge could be so many things. I would suggest you take her to the vet also, better to be safe. :)
