Ear infection

Guinness has an ear infection and the vet gave me a solution and drops to put in his ear...now his ear looks red and raw. Could it be from the medication? THe vet is closed today and I was just wondeing if anyone had a problem with ear meds...

He could be allergic to the ear solution. It might be a good idea to stop using it until tomorrow when you can talk to you vet.

I agree with Jan. Sounds like an allergic reation. My boxer had an infection that I initially treated with drops that needed to be refrigerated. After about 2 days, his ear looked like it was ripped to shreds. I got him off of it immediately and the vet prescribed Otomax which eventually cleared the infection. Good Luck.
