Ear Cropping Question

I had Luna's ears cropped 4 days ago. My vet waits until a boxer can hold their own ears up before he crops, so she was 15 wks old. Her ears are healing nicely, no bandages, no taping, and she holds her right ear up really pretty except for the very tip which curls the other way. But her left ear keeps laying back on her head instead of standing up like the right one. Do I need to consider taping just the one ear? Is it too early to worry about this? Need suggestions from more experienced boxer owners please and thank you!

We had our first boxers ears cropped and no matter what we did, tape, tape, tape they both folded on top of his head and looked like a bowtie, . When he was sleeping and relaxed they were beautiful, and somedays one would stand and the other would not. We opted not to have Toby's ears cropped, they are natural and floppy. He is happy and I am happy to not have to chase him around trying to tape them. I'm not sure how to help you with a solution but I hope you find the answer that you are looking for. Good luck

Just being cropped four days ago, I wouldn't be worrying. Let them heal and after the sutures are out you can begin taping. Your Vet should be able to help. There is no reason they won't stand up just fine.

Just out of interest.............................

It is not usual practice here in the UK to have Boxer's ears 'cropped' and I'm not sure that a Vet here would preform the required surgery.

So, purely out of interest, why do you put your dog through this drastic surgery? Surely what they are born with is the way they should be?
