Definitely, get advice or a vet recommendation from your nearest boxer club or nearest breeder of boxers (or dobermanns) who still crops. Not all vets even will perform that surgery anymore, and amongst those that will, not all are created equal. If it's going to be done, it should be done well - so get advice from those who do it as to who in your area should be allowed to touch your pup's ears.
