I'm glad to hear that you decided against ear cropping.

I had Barron's ears cropped and would never do it with another boxer. Just keeping the E collar on itself is a task!

I almost always have 2-5 pups all together with newly cropped ears. I have found it is easier for me to get the pups through their crop and healing. They sleep, eat and play with absolutely no problems. Yes, sometimes there is a squeak, but they are right back to playing.

Usually, if you have a puppy digging and scratching, it is the tape, not the ears that is bothering them. The most important thing is finding a vet that has good experience. Not knowing how to crop, tape and give correct aftercare is the reason for the many bad experiences people and pups have had.
