Ear Cleaning

My vet also helped instruct me on how to clean their ears. He stated to dose the ears with the solution and use hemostats with a cotton ball at the end at just clean it out. He said not to worry about punchuring the ear drum for he said that using the cotton ball and the hemos you won't. He also suggested to clean them every other week. I bought the ear cleaning solution from my vet as well as the hemostats.

I have a tea tree oil ear cleaning solution- it says gental on the bottle, but Luka HATES it- he growls and tries to bote the bottle. Your suposed to put a few drops in and then massage the ear. I try to use it once a week since he has floppy ears and they can get stinky. Last week, he bit me kinda hard a few times- he was trying to bite the bottle and he did feel sorry for getting me. Whew- it was a terrible struggle. Not sure what I'm going to do next time, but he's just going to have to deal- I don't need him to get an ear infection.
PS- this one just allows them to shake their head to get the excess out. No cottonballs needed.

I will bring a cleaning solution from a pet shop. Those which cleanses and has anti-mites, anti fungal ingredients. I will wipe the ear with the solution using a cotton wipe. For outer ear, I use Q-tip , for inner ear, I wrapped my index finger with cotton and wriggle it around into the ear canal.

Oski loves his ear wipe sessions. He will lay down on the floor and let me wipe them... After the session, I will give him a snack to praise him for the good behaviour.
