drooling

Riley my 1.5 year old has started this drooling/salavating thing. We have got in the habit of giving her a treat when we leave or go to bed or when she comes in from doing her business. So when we go to get the treat, she sits and waits, and before you know it, there are drops of drool or salava on the floor. I have recently(with in the week) switched to using the Canadae treats. Is this normal, should I be concerned. I have read about bloat and I dont think this is it, but I have raised her bowls up, but I think I will be lowering it, as to not cause a problem. Any help on this would be great, at least to easy my mind. Thanks.

Drooling when they are looking forward to some food is normal. All dogs do it some more than others. Our previous boxer was the worst drooler, it was like he had shoe laces hanging from either side of his mouth, Finnegan is not as bad but if I have a really good treat for him he starts blowing bubbles also.

Anyway, I have heard that some boxers drool and others don't. So far at 9 1/2 months Jesse does not. I am crossing my fingers she does not start.

Its not actaully "shoe laces" its more just water dropping from her mouth. I guess its nothing to worry about then.

Nothing to worry about at all. We can't even look at our dog during dinner, lest he think he's about to get a morsel, and opens the floodgates.

Boxers are known to drool - My boy is 2 years old and as soon as I say the word "treat" he starts to drool. We'll be in the kitchen to get his treat and as soon as I turn around to give it to him, he's already sitting in a pool of drool. He'll have blubbles coming from his mouth...its funny, but I am constantly mopping the floor. When I take him to obedience class, I have to take a hand towel with me to wipe him down from time to time...Hahhahaha...I still wouldn't trade him in for anything! I love that boy to death.
