I am at my wits end with Samson and his drooling, I can understand normal Boxer drooling and I can live with that, but these past couple of days have been extremely bad, he walks around with drips hanging off his lips, he looks like a leaking faucet. Could there be something wrong with him? It is getting hot here in AZ but I do not let the dogs stay outside, and the inside of my house is nice and cool. Poor Samson I keep him isolated in our den, am constantly chasing him around with a towel to keep his mouth dry. I have all ceramic tile through my house, and it is a bit of a hazard when you are slipping and sliding on drool in the house, not to mention gross, anyone offer some advice here? Poor baby he is laying there on his bed looking like a deserted puppy. One more question, does anyone have a Boxer that doesn't drool? My other Boxer Athena never drools or has drippy lips after drinking, maybe she is to much of a lady for it. Thanks Everyone>

athos drools too,i think it's a normal thing!but i remember once we had to take him to the vet because it was getting out of control,he was making "lakes"of drool wherever he laid down!the vet told us that he had an allergic reaction to an insect bite!we didn't see it at firs but his lip was a little swollen.so the vet gave him a shot and kept himthere for the whole day to keep him under control.and he was fine!we still have no clue on what bit him!

If Samson is drooling more than usual, there very well could be something wrong. A lot of things can cause drooling. Digestive problems, mouth pain due to dental problems, or a splinter in the gum. Even having something stuck between teeth can cause it. Have you checked his mouth?

Brody drools in anticipation of food. (Mine, not his :)) And he's a very messer drinker too. Other than that, he's pretty dry.:)

Hi JoAnn, as Nakota and Juju mentioned, it is worth gettin him checked out if he is drooling more than usual. If everything is fine then I guess Samson should not watch 'Turner and Hooch' anymore

If Samson is drooling much more than usual, there is probably something wrong and I would take him to the vet. Markus did that once and the vet said he had tonsilitus. I had no idea that boxers could get that. Antibiotics cleared it up right away. :)

Neither of my puppies drool much, neither did Tyson. I hope they don't start because they kiss on me all the time and vice versa. I had a ST Bernard once that watered the lawn for us with his drooling.

Umma doesn't drool at all, never saw that happening, I don't know if she's too young ? She's 3 months and 7 days old...maybe it'll happen later as she grows. Either way, I can understand your frustration..

..with the gas..is another story :D
