Ok, I think I have issues. Two, exactly. First, I posted a thread a couple months ago about Rommel "defending" the back yard and not even letting me go to the shed without him barking, crouching and jumping all over me. Just this past weekend, I was in the front yard hanging decorations and Rommel was in the back yard, running from gate to gate to keep an eye on me.
As soon as I had to get to the shed in the back and I came through the gate, he went balistic. You should see my thighs from him nipping and scratching me. I've got bloody scratches and bruises! I don't remember feeling like I had to defend myself or anything but what's the deal? He was crouched, his bark was deep and he was circling me, nipping at my pants and jumping on my legs. I was getting angry.
Second issue, am I losing my place as alpha? I don't have any children and he's the only dog I've raised on my own. It's just the 2 of us except for when we're at BF's house and he doesn't act that way with BF.
What can I do to gain back control and still feel that I'm giving him enough love? Help!!
