This is common. Hammer loves kitty crunchies from the "buffet box"! Ewwww! There are some products that you can give your dog to make his poop unpalatable, but I don't have any information about how safe they are and how well they work. The best solution is a good pooper scooper!

Good luck!

LOL

So it is a puppy thing. No need to run off to the vet. I don't remember my Min pin doing that. but he was a pup along time ago.

My friend's boxer does that. He's about and a half old.. and he's been doing it his whole life. He only eats his OWN poop, not his sisters... strange. Sorry, I don't have any real answers for you. I just wanted you to know that you're not alone in the world...

My Lab did it, and Cassius has been caught dining on poopies too, just like ssleighter says, A good pooper scooper is the best investment... I just clean as we go (no pun intended) and problem solved!!!

I'm glad to hear this hasn't killed anyone's dog yet. Lenox gets into the neighbors' litter box dump spot and every once in a great while, her own. The worst problem is when she carries it into the house. Yuck! We scolded her severly the couple times she tried it and it's been awhile now.

Ha Ha

Ginger would be SO happy if we let her follow the neighbor's horses all day - from the theme of this thread I'm sure everyone can guess why...
guess it's one more reason to have them tolerate their teeth being brushed...

Buffet Box! Too funny!

My babies don't eat their poop, but if a cat has been in the front yard and I let them out to "use it" they will find cat poop and eat it up like it is delicious - and not to mention the rabbit poop - they can find it in an instant and gobble that up, too!
FYI. Cat food is very high in protien, and this seems to be the favored theory as to why dogs find it so yummy! I don't know, but I did have to move the litter box to a boxer-free zone!
