Daisy's Ma

Boxer Pal
My little girl is having a problem, this last week she has been going to the bathroom in the house. She will be two in March and we hav'nt had this problem in over nine months ( since we brought her home). Nothing has changed around the house, has anyone had this problem with there boxers? She is my first Boxer and I didn't know if there was some medical issue I should look into. Please help

Definitely a trip to a vet. Whenever a seemingly housetrained dog suddenly starts having potty issues like that, the first stop should be a vet to check her out for medical issues. In your case, it sounds very much as though your pup has a bladder or urinary tract infection that will be affecting her ability to hold her bladder (as well as being extremely uncomfortable for the dog).

Check out the medical issues first. And only if there's no discernable problem should you start to consider behavioural issues.

Harley started doing that at about her same age, but we had just moved into a new house, so I figured that was the problem. But it didnt stop. Then I started noticing large wet spots wherever he laid. I wasnt sure if it was sweat or if he was wetting the bed.

He also hesitated to go outside. He didnt want to go at all and whenever he had accidents in the house, it seemed to be when he was asleep and wasnt aware he was doing it. My guess is it was painful, so he refused to go and when he relaxed, it came out.

So I took him to the vet. They said no UTI, but he was passing crystals. I dont know what that means, but they gave him antibiotics and the problem was solved.

I agree with everyone else, first I'd rule out anything medical before. My bf's AmStaff was doing the same thing, and she's 4, so we took her to the vet and it was a UTI. So I'd take that step first before wondering if it's behavioral. Hope you get it figured out.
