Something is going on with Domino. He is swallowing alot and its like a dry swallow. I can hear his tummy gurgling. I have felt his tummy and it feels normal. He ate his dinner around 530 this afternoon and I gave him a little left over T- bone meat but he has had this before. He didn't finish all of his food which was strange. But ever since dinner and it is now 12:15AM he can't even sleep. He tries to drop his head to sleep but its like something in his tummy is bothering him. I gave him some pepto about 20 minutes ago. He hasn't had to many upset tummies so I am not too familiar with this. What do I do? His nose feels a little warm. I am going to watch him over the next hour and if he is the same we will go to the emergency vet......if he is better and I pray he is then the pepto worked.

Herkie was acting like that a couple of weeks ago, he actually threw up twice...which he NEVER does. He couldn't get comfortable lying down, you could just tell he felt sooo bad. It turned into loose stools...I dosed him up with Pepto for the next two days, and it made a world of difference. I was about to take him to the ER vet as well, and when I was just about ready to go...he started jumping around and acting a fool! I'm sending vibes that Domino feels better soon.

Lucky's tummy was doing the same just over a week ago. She did vomit and we took her to the emergency vet. They told us she had pancreatitis. She was put on medicine and ate rice for about a week. She then vomitted again a week later. We put her on a rice/dry food mix and she seems to be doing a little better. Keeping our fingers crossed that it is only a stomach virus not pancreatitis.

Well we got back from the vet and it was an upset tummy. He did notice Domino's coat and how his tummy is itchy. He asked me if I had changed his diet I said yes I had been adding in Canidae he suggested to just take him back to wellness and yogurt. He did give us prescription w/d(a high fiber dog food) to make his stools more firm.
He also wanted to give Domino a cortisone shot which I told him no cortisone. But he did give domino a shot of Diathal and gave us some pills (metronidazole). He wants us to come back in 5 days.

The good news is Domino seems to be better. Thanks everyone.

Well today Domino is back to himself. I am just very happy he is actually drinking not as much as he used to but it was good to hear that "gulp, gulp, gulp" this afternoon.

He is being silly and his usual "let me mootch some food from ya" self.

I am no longer going to give him any scraps except some scrambled eggs.
And he has 1 more day of eating that prescription w/d food.

Thanks everyone for your kind words and support.

There must be something going around. Last night Oskar started with lots of swallowing we kept him upstairs with us and sure enough he threw up. There was so much but all I could see was kibbles and his meatloaf. He still wasn'[t himself this morning but did eat a bit. Poor guy I felt so bad leaving him for work. I hope it runs it's course soon.
