I just got a part time job at the doggy day care in town and there was an adorable boxer there! I was just wondering if any of you bring your babies to day care and how often do they get to go?
Mona doesn't go YET, but I really want to start taking her once per week. I know she would love it. I have several friends who take their dogs to day care on a regular basis. I think it is invaluable to them as far as socialization and exercise.
I took my youngest for a couple of years when she was young and full of it. She would literally come home, flop down and almost not move until the next day! LOL. I gradually scaled her back after she turned two and now she doesn't go at all. Good luck at your new job! I imagine the worst part is dealing with the parents!
Lucky was going to daycare once a week. He hasn't for the last few months, because he has been living with DBF's parents. Our apartment complex decided to ban large dogs and we couldn't get them to bend the rules or let us out of our lease. Luckily we are building a house, and it will be completed in April. So, as soon as we have Lucky back, he will be going back to daycare. He absolutely LOVES it!
Ginger does not get to go to one. I'm usually home all the time, since I'm a SAHM. Lucky for you to have a part time job there. I want to get me a part time job doing something with animals after my kids start school.
ON the same topic - how much does everyone pay for this? My friend lives in Kentucky and she can bring her dog for the whole day for $7. I checked it out up here, in NJ and it was $25 for the day!!
The place looked like nothing special, too...
Our local doggy daycare is $18 per day (ohio). I checked into it when we were fostering over the summer because I had a hard time getting our very active foster girl enough exercise. I just couldn't bring myself to pay that much!
Once a week for Lucy too... Wednesdays. She loves it and whines all morning on Wed. until we leave. $18 for us as well. I wish it was cheaper, we'd take her everyday, especially in the winter!
