My husband and I were on our way home from lunch today when we were passing a Petsmart. I asked to stop in to check on the price of the Doggie Dooley, it's a dog waste disposal system. With the weather getting warmer a bucket of poo is going to be causing some odor issues. The cheapest model, which I believe was the original model, is being discontinued and marked down to $11.77. (from $46.99). I seem to remember some discussion last year about these and some were concerned about the price. The first store we were at had sold out but they called another store and we got their last one. It is on petsmart.com at that price tho'. Here's the link.

Doggie Dooley Pet Waste Disposal Systems - Lawn Repair - Clean Up/Stain & Odor Control - PetSmart

I had one at our last house and loved it. Put the poo in, add water and digester. You have a clean yard and a better smelling trash can.(I know they never smell great.) I hope this helps someone. You do have to dig a 4 ft hole for the installation so it's not the easiest thing to put in, but I think the few hours of work installing it is worth it.

Thanks for the post. Was thinking about trying one of these instead of just cleaning up and putting the waste in the garbage. Ran out and got one to try. Can't beet that price to try. Going to install it right next to the area we are training Brodie to use as his potty. Training been going pretty well to. he will urinate anywhere in the yard but he has used the potty area 90 % of the time for the other. He jogs right there with us most of the time (Except in the rain. Like most of the boxers I have seen he hates the rain and the cold).

Question

I have a lower spot in my yard that can be kinda muddy most of the spring and fall. would it be ok to install this there?

Probably not the instructions say to put in a well drained area where there is never any standing water.

those do seem like a good idea, they dont work in winter, but i know for me,it gets nasty once a week when i have to drag the bucket of poo to curb for the trash man,i use one of those 16 inch high round trash can things with a step on it for the lid to open and just dump my claw pooper scoopers prize in there usually.
