Sydney celebrated her 1st b-day tuesday. we are so proud !! We had a party for her tonight. She had a special doggie cake (beef). I had my family over mom, dad, brother and both sets of grandparents. Scooby doo hats, balloons and lots of people food was a great time for all. I was just wondering do other boxer mommies and daddies go all out like this. Please tell me I have not gone too far.

PS I tried all night to get a picture with that b-day hat on her.

thanks,

Every year for my Tazzy we did some grand production. This his last year we had the traditional family doggie birthday party but I also made a DVD of his life from birth to date and added music graphics and sent them to all his special humans. Now that he passed away 5 weeks after his birthday I'm glad I have such a special birthday tribute to look at.

Happy Birthday Sydney, just one year old how great!!!

Sadie's Birthday was in September and the day started off at the beach with her best doogie friend (my in-laws Westie) and then we came back home and I have hats for everyone...including the dogs. And we all enjoyed cake...chocolate for the humans and a cake that I made especially for dogs! It was a nice day and by the time it was all over Sadie was exausted. I posted a picture of her with her hat and bandana and the present that her other doggie friend gave her (a stuffed birthday cake that instead of sqeaking it plays happy birthday and Sadie would proceed to "woo woo" with it every time!) So yes the answer is I went all out for my baby's 1st birthday!!

Tazzy's mom, I am so sorry to hear about Tazzy. What happened? I would be devistated. He was only a few weeks younger than my Sadie. I am so sorry.

You are definitely not unusual or overdoing it at all your just got the Boxer bug. It's very contagious & no one can escape it's grasp. Most all Boxer owners feel an overwhelming love for their babies because of all the love they give us & then some. Their uncanny human traits & their very perceptive ways of knowing when we're sad & how to make us feel better is just a few ways that the Boxer has made us GaGa (so to say) over them. So my diagnosis is that you've bitten by the Boxer bug & fortunately you live from this very contagious disease.

Tazzy's Mom I'm very sorry for your loss & how wonderful that you made the DVD for precious memories.

yup. For Gunther's 1st Birthday last month I bought plates, napkins, hats, balloons and a banner reading Happy 1st Birthday. Grandma was there, too. And as a special treat I invited Gunther's girlfriend, Roxy, a female boxer whom Gunther has played with before. And we had Roxy's brother, a chihuahua named Felix. Doggy cake was had by all. It was a great time.

If you're crazy, then we are all crazy together! For my Tank's 1st birthday I had a party for him too. I sat him down put a special birthday boy bandana around his neck and took picture of him withhis birthday cupcake. At the time we didn't have any other boxer friends, but for his 2nd birthday recently, it was a different story. We had his friend Truce (American BullDog) come over and his other boxer friends come over and play and everyone got a special raw-hide bone as a party favor. Oh, and for my girl boxer, Lilly, birthday, we took her to the lake because she loves the water. She celebrated her birthday in style on the lake front with cake, guests, and all. You're not alone, we're all the same here with our babies.
