I rarely take my dogs to the dog park, but when I do we just walk the huge loop and just try to burn off some energy. It's a big area so it works well. I grew up around animals on a little farm, so I take pride in being able to read animals and see when body language or eyes are not good. I think a lot of dog owners don't know how to read the signs and stop behaviors before they escalate. Too often I hear owners say "My dog won't do anything." But all it takes is one dog to change a dog. My first boxer was the sweetest thing, until he was attacked by my friend's boxer. He literally got his butt kicked! From that day on he was was the one starting fights, I think it was because he was protecting himself and on guard.
Anyway, just be careful. Watch for signs and be proactive! :)
