Hi everyone!
I live in a 2 floor townhouse, endunit. The guys next door have a boxer-mix that is around 1yr maybe less. I don't know if they exercise her enough but my thinking is that they don't. She's not well trained on lead but is the sweetest pup! The problem....when they go to work she whines. No, she howls. And it's not something that she does for a bit and 'whines herself to sleep'. She does this ALL day long. It gets very loud and it is so hard to hear. It makes me feel so sad for her. I can tell she's in one spot in the house whether it's a crate or in a bedroom. What can I do about this that won't get them mad at me? They know she does this b/c I've told them, but they don't know the extent. How do I broach the subject and politely suggest ways to make her more comfortable during the day? They are gone quite a while each day as well. I'm at a loss and I feel bad b/c she's starting to make me very angry listening to it all day....but I feel terrible for her! I know it's not her fault and all I want to do when I hear this is break in and give her a big hug!! :( Help if you can, please! I'd greatly appreciate it.

That's sad. Do you knoe these neighbors well enough to suggest that maybe you could go over there during the day, let him out and play with him a little?(assuming you are home during the day)
Or if not I would try to at least talk to them about how bad it is and offer ideas on what they could do to help.Good luck!

If you have a tape recorder, it may be a good idea to play back a recording of their dog's obsessive howling the next time you approach them about it. Good luck and do keep us posted ~ Cathy

Thank you for the responses. Next time I see one or both of them I'll offer assistance when I'm home. She sure needs some play time and in a month I'll have Porter out with me too so I'm sure they'll both love it! I hope they let me help out with her. If not then I'll try to suggest some options if they seem open to it. I'll keep you posted!! Thanks again!! BW is so great for advice!!
