I would like to know why they put that chemical in Nutro. I am and have been using nutro max puppy for my pup since I got her. My dog loves Nutro. I never have any problems with her eating. Matter of fact, she cleans the bowl withing a few minutes of me putting it down. Does anyone know the effect of that chemical in small amounts? Maybe I could get in touch with a vet and ask.

Its not that they put the chemical in the food. Its that they used an animal in the food that has been put to sleep and the animal contains that chemical. The animal also isn't listed so the buyer has no way of knowing whether the animal that contained the chemical was a cow or a dog from a shelter.

There are no studies (at least none that I am aware of ) that list the effects that this chemical has on animals that ingest it for long periods of time.

It might seem like a small amount now but if the food is fed over an extended period of time then that amount isn't so small anymore.

Sounds like they took care of the problem. Now that brings up another question. How much of your beef from the store has that chemical? I am sure the answer is none.

Wow I am glad that I saw these links! I need to get Mason off of Pro Plan - the problem is that this is the food he's doing the best on. I think I'll try the Chicken Soup line...we tried Wellness and he had the worst gas! Also, he still had some of the vomiting problems with Wellness. I'd like to see how he does with the Chicken Soup line since it looks like that'll be our best bet. Thank you very much for posting these links!

Nutro is an OK food but its not a great food. There are better kibbles that you can read about if you use the search feature. :)

hhmm well i have found two foods locally and they are
rayal canine-natural blend-holistic dog food
and 1st choice!!

royal canine is quite expensive but i'm also reading up on BARF and maybe i could rotate between BARF and royal canine!!! with one being wet food and the other dry would this upset her stomach?
