Hey guys I just found this website that list the pitbulls jawpower @ 1,800 pounds per sq. inch.

This is a common myth about APBTs. From the ADBA (parent club of the APBT) http://members.aol.com/bstofshw/ :

FACT: Dr. 1. Lehr Brisbin of the University of Georgia states, "To the best of our knowledge, there are no published scientific studies that would allow any meaningful comparison to be made of the biting power of various breeds of dogs. There are, moreover, compelling technical reasons why such data describing biting power in terms of "pounds per square inch" can never be collected in a meaningful way. All figures describing biting power in such terms can be traced to either unfounded rumor or, in some cases, to newspaper articles with no foundation in factual data."

just wondering what exactly would you get if you crossed an German Boxer import with an american style boxer?

You would get, surprisingly enough, a Boxer.

re: bite

Cool. I knew you would now

Ya always give a good answer. Miss J.

I just found it on a web sitefor k9 info that was put up by some scientist who studies animas in the wild and was listing bite power of diff. species.

Well you would get a Boxer but I was really tring to ask was what traits would show up ex.. a samller boxer but thicker or taller boxer. I guess this question is too vague sorry just curious?

Good answer anyways Miss Julie

Do you have that website link? Perhaps the info on the ADBA site is outdated now...

As for the breeding - that was a kind of flip answer, sorry ;) but it really depends on which two dogs you breed. Although German lines *tend to be* stockier and American lines *tend to be* more elegant, there are exceptions to every rule; and, it depends on what those two dogs are producing. My bottom-of-the-height-standard, elegant female, when bred to a middle-of-the-height-standard, stocky male, produced a top-of-the-height-standard male who is elegant but is becoming more substantial as he matures (he's not quite 2). Her breeding to a slightly shorter male has produced a boy of the about same height as the first one....so, you just never know!

I agree that it would be next to impossible to gauge bites. My green-wing macaw is supposedly 1200. I don't know about that. All I know is when she gets mad and bites, it hurts like heck.
