The time really did travel so slowly when I was waiting for Doja..... I picked her out and 3 days old. The one good thing was that I went to visit her every weekend till she came home at 6 weeks. Now she is 7.75 months old and the time has flown by...... The waiting is good beleive it or not, there is so many things that need to be done to prepare for a puppy. Its like having a baby. So make sure you all make every arrangement possible. And make sure you have a lot of that natures miracle on hand, you will be needing it often :)

Take a lot of pics, they grow so darn fast.... My Doja is already about 45 lbs.... she packed on at least 6 or 7 lbs between each 3 week vet visit.

Enjoy! and do lots of boxer research.... There is so much to know. another tip, don't stock up or buy food in advance. You never know if it will agree with the pup.

My God talk about a long wait, so now I'm prayin for a little boy, his name is Houston, and we don't care what color, just that it's a boy, we have two girls already and I love the males, somethin about em:)So maybe you guys will feel a little better hearing me wine :) Would you guys pray theres a little boy there for me, ever since I lost my Dylan 19 months ago, I need a litttle boy, not to replace him, that can't be done and I wouldn't want to , he's not replaceable!!! Just like my boys ( love my girls TOTALLY )

Oh Boy!! I know the feeling! I've been going through it for the last 5 months now. I've been taking my time doing all the research, reading all the books and meeting all the breeders I can. Well, I've had other complications like divorce and a broken back to slow me down, too. But finally, the time is nigh!!

It won't be long now before I can join the rest of you in the world of boxer lubbins!!

Doja's Mommy has a good idea there with the dog food. I was all excited about buying good food for the puppy and I was going to buy a big bag and all that, but after seeing that some dogs respond better to some premium brands better than others, I've decided to just buy a trial size.

Time does seem to stand still :)

We went to pick out our baby Piper when she was 3 1/2 weeks old, and the kids and I have been counting down ever since. Now we are a 13 days and counting and it seems like it is taking longer than ever. The excitement of getting a new puppy when youv'e been looking for one for 6 or more months is overwhelming. We try to keep ourselves from buying too much for her before she arrives. If we keep going where will we put it all? Good luck waiting, it seems like time stands still.

Crazy here too!

I haven't even found my perfect second pup yet, and I'm going nuts. It seems like I have been searching forever, but I want the perfect brother for R.J.. I can't begin to image how impatient I will get once I find the one I want and have to wait for him. Oh, how crazy those boxers make us all!

While you are waiting, why don't you download "Before You Get Your Puppy" by Ian Dunbar. It's free and he has some pretty good advice. You can get it from www.openpaw.com

Good luck!

waiting "patiently" ... yeah right

we found a great breeder but the pups are still only around 3 or so weeks old. along with the fact that the breeder hasnt visited our home yet so we dont even know if can qualify for one of them. although i dont see any problems with it it just seems like its gonna take forever. it looks like around end of june begining of july we can get them. i hope something else happens soon to help time go by a bit faster.

Feels like forever but...

We have been researching and reading and preparing since we lost our boy in January. The search felt endless. We are preparing to meet our new boy and family on Sunday. If all goes well, he will be coming home with us. We could not be more excited. I have read Ian Dunbar's book preparing for puppy along with several other books but still feel unprepared. We have several crates from previous dogs we have owned. They are cleaned and ready to be set up. One for the bedroom, one for the living room and one for the dog den and one for our neighbor who will puppy sit when we are at work. I have purchased dog toys and treats. I am washing barely used toys from the dog toy box. I have made the appointment for the vet check on Monday. I have called our dog trainer to set up for puppy etiquette class once he is old enough and to discuss what food lines he carries that may be appropriate for our boy. I have a slip lead to go pick him up with and have ordered a martingale collar for him. We love those. I am puppy proofing the house today for his arrival. And we have selected a spot for his pee post. I am a sucker for gadgets. We are considering a doggy door bell but we will see how it goes. I am at a loss for what to do next. I am just nesting and pacing. I am glad that I work Friday and Saturday because time will go a little faster. I arranged for time off next week to be home with him and my husband has arranged for the other days.

I feel for everyone else who is waiting. It is an exciting time.
