Does your house smell?

So I guess the more humidity the more you can smell the doggie??? I guess I'm fresh outta luck because where we live the humidity is maybe 90% on most days GO FIGURE :rolleyes:
Okay......so anybody with any ideas about high humidity areas???

Hawaii is high humidity? I thought Hawaii was rather pleasant, but then again I'm from Florida, high humidity capital.

No, my house doesn't smell. If it does no one has told me. I just keep it clean like I would with dogs or not.

My DH says that our house smells but I can not smell it maybe I'm immune to it. I also ask my daughter and she also says it doesn't smell. I vacume once a day mop once a week (depending on how many muddy paw prints I get on the floor) I also use Febreeze and the plug in oils (I'm lucky for the dogs do not bother them) Well if my house does smell no one else besides DH has said anything about it and if it does then so be it I love my babies too much to worry about a little smell and as long as it doesn't bother me than we are okay! There is also alot of humidity in the Cincinnati area especially during the summer and the a/c does take care of most of the problem.. Oh and I also put a air freshener in my furnice air vent you can get them at any hardware store.

Something to ponder...Is it the dogs feet that smell like Frito's or the Frito's that smell like dogs feet? LOL

I am a febreeze nut, myself. I also have these things called Wisps in the house. They run by battery and emit a wisp of fragrance every 10 seconds or so.

I don't think my house smells either. I know that there was a smell when I had a cat, but I don't smell anything now with just Rocky. I sweep daily and vacuum (I have mostly hard wood floors but like to vacuum them)and dust at least once a week. Rocky is bathed at least once a month.
The only time I can smell him is when it is raining or snowing and he comes in from being wet, but i try (key word!!) to dry him off at the front door. I also have those wisps around the house. Much better than burning candles which can be dangerous.

This is a funny post because my DH says the house smells and I just don't smell it. I can smell Roxy when she's near me and especially when she needs a bath, but I don't think the house itself smells. (I also don't think she actually stinks even when she does need a bath - maybe I'm a little sick, but I kinda like the way she smells!) I also Febreeze the furniture, vacuum the floors and the furniture often, wash her bedding regularly, etc. Roxy is allowed on the furniture and she sleeps with us (what a bed hog!). No one but my DH has ever said that the house smells. And if ANYONE ever came out and said that it did (to my face - other than DH) I don't think they'd be coming back!!! It's my house, my dog. If someone doesn't like it - too bad!!

P.S. I am curious, however, about the Frito smell-Roxy's feet also smell like Fritos, but sometimes it's more of a chemical smell. I don't mind the Frito smell but I don't like the chemical smell.

My house didn't smell until my cat decided to start peeing, but that's another story. Anyway, we vacuum regularly and use Arm & Hammer pet fresh for the carpets (carpets seem to hold the smell the most) and until we had the cat problem, no one would know we had any animals. My dogs don't smell "doggy" --they have pleasant smelling body odor.:D

Oh and Febreze works really great on their beds;D

Febreeze Scent Stories works amazing. Now with 2 over active boxers who lick and drool all over each other, this little machine is a god-sent.

Frito's? We always said they smell like popcorn. I have caught DH sniffing Nestle's paws and giggling... An man and his boxer girl!!!!!

I don't think that my house smells. Once in awhile I do get the "doggy" smell and we only have Leesha. I regularly wash her bed clothes, vacuum every day, mop once a week and I use Febreeze on her bed area and also the Febreeze air spray and the plug ins. I've never had anyone complain about my house smelling bad. Maybe it does and they are just being polite by not saying anything.

I know my house smells...or at least I'm sure it does. But I can't smell it. And, Lucky for me, all of my friends have indoor doggies, so they can't smell it either.

But, I must admit, I am pretty curious about the frito's thing. I've never smelled Tucker's feet....and I hope I don't get caught checking it out later!

I have actually smelled the Fritos too! I can't believe someone posted that because I never would have admitted that to anyone

My sister told me a few weeks ago that she could smell animals in my house and she said it was unusual because that was the first time she ever smelled it and we have 2 boxers and 2 cats. It turns out that it was just their stinky bed covers. I usually wash them once a week, but didn't get to them that week.
