Does your dog wear boots in the winter?

I am trying to decide if Cami will wear boots in the winter. She really doesn't care for anyone touching her feet. I tried putting a pair of socks on her front feet and she proceded to flop over onto her back with her legs sticking up in the air and she was as stiff as a board! She wouldn't move. She just lay there staring so intently at her feet that I thought she was going cross eyed.

The problem is not getting something on her feet, it's her actions after the fact. She loves having a coat on and will actually prace around the neighborhood showing off. She is a DIVA with a coat on.

So, how many of you have boot wearing Boxers? Is it something that they get used to? Or should I not even bother?

My Ruby wears one boot on her front paw becuase it is arthritic due to an old injury before we adopted her. She only wears it becuse she has to and has problems if she doesn't. We have four boots for her, but notice I said she only wears one! She doesn't like them, but we won't budge on the injured paw. Even with the one she always wears outside in the winter, she will hold that paw up when wearing it. When we first bought them, we thought it would be cute if Butch and Ruby both wear them on walks. Thought is right, Butch won't move with them on and immediately shakes them off. We tried to slowly get them used to the boots, we tried to entice them with treats, we tried a lot, but the boots were unsuccessful with my two pups. When Ruby does wear the one on her injured paw, it always turns upside down and doesn't stay where it is supposed to. Although that could be because her paw turns out crooked. They are really cute with a matching coat, but I would definately keep trying the socks to see if you can get your pup to walk with something on her feet. They are much less expensive than boots in case it doesn't work out!!!

Yes, Daisy wear's her booties in the winter.

The municipality where we lives uses salt on the roads and sidewalks through the winter. ( Yeah, that right, litterally thousands of tonnes of salt are dispensed turning perfectly good snow into useless salty slush ).

If your dog walks any length of time on the salty pavement, her feet will literally burn and she refusses to walk.

I tried to use booties on Layla the other day and it was the funniest thing to witness. She would jerk each foot in the air one after the other not understanding what was on her feet and why they weren't coming off. She hated them. But she did make her mommy laugh with her antics!

Oskar wears boots in the winter. There's a picture in my gallery. We had to buy them for him b/c he loves the snow and to run behind us when we cross country ski. He poor feet would chap and bleed. It takes him a bit of time to get used to them when they go on but you wouldn't know he has them on after a while. I know some people that don't care for them but I can tell you his feet don't chap or bleed!

I got Bronx some boots just the other day. He got used to them pretty
quickly, and of course it's a riot watching him. I put him outside and he
heard someone, and ran barking over to the gate. What a sight, him
racing over there, with his 'wussy' boots on, high-steppin all the way. I
hope we don't give him a complex laughing at him!

We nearly peed our pants watching Oskar the first times also! I took a vidoe of him and his sad face! Oh it was funny!

Roxy and my GSD where boots also.....if people laugh....that is there problem...they are not paying the vet bills for infected feet due to salt....and the pain and suffering the dog has to go through !!!

We where them...why can't they !!!

Plus how cute do they look on them !!
