ROFL! Jake definitely does this. My sister's mixed breed, Harriet, does it as well. When I lived at home my other sister and I would sometimes "babysit" when her "mom" was on vacation. My little sister would let Harriet sleep on her bed, but I wouldn't. Harriet would sigh the whole night!

Great topic!
Pharaoh does this too...he's got several sigh combo's.
The sigh....the "talk" sigh...the bored sigh...the annoyed sigh...the bark - sigh combo, etc.
Mostly he does the yawn - sigh and the playful bark sigh. Guess boredom really brings it out in them.

It always cracks me up how alike our dogs are!

I have a "sigher" too, he sighs when he is bored and annoyed, but also his latest (I have been planted in front of the computer doing papers for school) is the loud sigh followed by soft whine combination. He does this 4 or 5 times while staring at me and it drives me crazy.

That is when I finally break down and take him to the park or to his friends, because 1 more sigh is going to drive me over the edge :)

My husband and I were laughing about this the other day. Boxers are pros at sighing, aren't they? And they want you to be sure that you hear their sighs, so they sigh EXTREMELY LOUDLY!!

LavaLinda,
Ditto on the 'shuddering' inspiration followed by the VERY LOUD expiration! Not only that, the grandeur of the sigh is directly related to how 'upset' Clio is!

Megan is definitely a sigher. I think it is the funniest thing.

I love it!! The funniest sigh that Sam does is when we're in bed. When I'm falling asleep or when I first wake up, I'll take a big breath & slowly let it out (sounds like a sigh)---& then Sam does a big sigh too----cracks me up :D

This is funny! Zoe sighs all the time. When I ask her to go lie down on her bed, if her dinner isn't ready yet, if I'm leaving but not taking her for a ride in the car, etc., etc. She has this really annoying sigh/whine/yawn she does whenever she's pretty sure we've forgotten she was in the room, it's a little reminder. If we don't pay attention to her right away afterwards, there's always another to follow. It drives my husband, Jason, INSANE! Jake does it, too, but his are almost sigh/groans. Mostly when he's bored or not getting enough attention, or worse, having to share his love and attention with Zoe! :) Jessica
