rocky used to be like this when he was younger, i mean he kinda mellowed out a bit after 1 and a half years. he used to jump like a wild dog at us in the yard. i guess it was his play. he doesnt usually do this anymore. thank goodness. i used to get injuries, too.

on the other hand, mimi is as mellow as you can get. she just goes outside to lay in the grass mainly as if to say "what? you want me to actually do something?". ha ha

I always thought it was so sweet how Piper tries to play rough but I never consider it playing rough because she doesn't put pressure on your hand. She growls her big growl then puts her hind end in the air like she's preparing to pounce and next thing you know she's nawling(sp?) on my hand ever so gently.;)

Going barefoot in the house, and all in good fun, watching Snoop and Dottie "play," I got my big toe cut open in the same spot, 5 times in 2 days, from their little Boxer feet! Guess I need steel toe shoes! ;)
They play fight, with both mouths open, making all sort of noises, but neither of us has had skin broken by any teeth.
Let either of our sons come into the house, and they think it is a free for all, and they BOTH are all over them. Leap straight up in the air and land on their shoulders, both trying to get the most attention! Sure, get them all riled up, and then leave.
Yep, ours play rough. The dogs, too ;)

Ali loves to play rough and grab me with her mouth - but she NEVER bites. She makes all sorts of noises when she plays with me or even if she is just playing with her toys.

My Maggie only plays rough with family members,( and my neighbors dog), that have allowed her to in the past, but never really hurts anyone or breaks the skin. I started something with her when she was 5-6 months old, while her teething ring was my skin. I would say " Love Bites" and she knew to let up on the pressure. Now when we play I'll say "Love bites" just to remind her that she can only nibble. At any time I can say " No Play" and she'll stop. Boxers are so smart!!!
I know when I get another it will be total chaos around here!!!

DC gave Gator a black eye yesterday! Takes some doing, considering Gator already has black eyes! DC was tossing a toy in the air and catching it before Gator could reach it (Boxer keep-away). It got through DC's mug once a Gator was there. Unfortunately Gator was right under DC and when he came down POW! They did the head butt. Gator didn't mind, he had that toy. A few minutes later I checked on him and his eye looked like it should have been in a Rocky movie! Swollen almost completly shut. Looks much better this morning though.
