What you described sounds like normal boxer play. Nestle and Porter both play very rough with DH. When they play together is is total chaos and you would swear they are going to kill each other but the nubs are wagging the whole time.

chloe is extremely rough when she plays and her mouth is always open and those teeth do get you, she love to run at you and jump between the nail and teeth my arms are a mess. when her and maxi play you would think they were killing each other with all the noise they make, still at times i run in to make sure they are playing and they look at me like i just ruined the party of something, gotta love them.

chloe 5 red fawn
maxi 10 rottie

PJ also loves to play rough with son and DH. He knows what "no bit" means, but has to be told over and over. He will jump up on the couch and I say "down". He looks at me like the fun is over mom spoke. He will calm down. It is funny to watch.

Jake plays very rough with my husband and son - not with me. He sounds like the wolfman - very scary, but that's just play growling. I have to tell people he's only playing so they don't get nervous from the growling. He will grab my son's pants leg or shirt so he can't get away! Lots of sewing repairs on the clothes! But not nearly as much as he used to do (Jake's maturing you know, he's 2)

Completely Boxer Crazy
Oh my! When my two (boxer and a lab) go at it, you swear they will rip each other to shreds! We recently went camping and for a while had the dogs tied up away from each other and you could see how miserable they were, so we moved them so they could be closer...when they would start getting into it people from other campsites would look over at us with startled expressions and we would have to explain that they are just playing. The sounds are terrible, but the tails wag a mile a minute!

 You think 1 is bad wait til you get another one...Bubba is not bad but Bella my spawn of evilicon is the meanist thing you have ever seen, no amount of time out works..you are not alone...

i would be worried if she didn't play rough......it's in their blood. Not to say they are mean, but they love to play to the fullest extent possible.

D.C. loves to play rough! We play and he and Gator play all the time. The two of them playing make enough noise for a dozen dogs! I have got plenty of scrapes, scars, dents and dings from Boxer play. But I tell them to "SIT!" when I have had enough and they will stop and sit, tails wagging so fast you can't help but laugh.

One thing I have to watch is teasing either of them from under a blanket or sheets or something. It's still a play attack, but they bite a little harder because its just a lump, they don't know its me!

Playing rough

Ali plays rough with her "boyfriend" Brooke. They just play, play, & play and when we take them on the trails to run off lead, don't get in their way, or they will take you right off your feet. She's not mouthy, but jumps like crazy which can really bruise my legs. All the part of being a boxer owner, I guess.

Super Boxer
Boomer plays like a wild man. Especially with my BF and my dad. We call it "big time boxer wrestling!!" When he is at daycare or at the dog park he does the same thing. At times he reminds me of some of my students with ADHD. He can get a little nutty and you have to reel him back in. We give him a down command and tell him "no Bite" he will lay down and lick your hand. We wait a little bit and then tell him "free" and hes back to wooing and growling like a nut :)
