The other day Murphy decided to crawl under the bed and chew the bottom of the boxspring. Since things were a little too quiet in the house I decided to check on him and see what he was up to. Well here is this little face peeking out from under the bed. After a session of Bad Dog!! he promptly went and sat in his kennel. He just sat there for about 10 minutes and then he grabbed a squeaky toy, squeaked it about 3 times and looked at me with those woeful eyes as if to ask, "Can I play now"? This is the funniest thing I have ever seen and tried really hard not to laugh as he was sitting in his kennel. He's done it a couple of times now when he has been bad, and every time I have to try not to laugh as it would take away from the issue of him being a little naughty. Has anyone else ever had this happen??????

Charlie rats himself out

I love an honest dog. When we come home if he's not done anything bad doggie worthy he hops and bounces around us. But, if he's done anything that he knows is trouble, soon as we open the door he start with the head swung down and walks himself to the back door. Used to as I cleaned up whatever he tore up or messed up I'd put him outside while I did it. Giving us both a moment to let me get over the angry part. So, yup if charlie does anything wrong he gets this really guilty look and heads to the back door and he wont come back inside even though he hates having the door closed. You go open up the door and enough time out hasnt gone by he'll just peek in but he wont come in.

To the OP, how funny!

Asia does that too but it really isn't as noticeable as going into her crate! If she is in trouble and she knows it, she'll just lay down and glare at us out of the corner of her eyes with a pitiful look. It's really cute. If she tries to play with us and we don't respond, she'll just go lay down like 'OK, I'm still in trouble ...'! It's so cute though, it's hard to resist playing! ;)

Snoop is NEVER bad.....

At almost 18 months old, Snoop doesn't really think he EVER does anything bad.
I look at him, and in a loud voice I say to him, "What did you do?!?" He looks at me, turns that mouth up to the ceiling, and turns his head totally away from me, as if to say, "Talk to the hand!"
You see, when I yell at him, HE GETS MAD AT ME!!!
Yep....I'm the one who is wrong!
And then he won't even LOOK at me, till HE is ready to make up!
What am I doing wrong

My little 7 month old girl does it to. Mostly with potty issues. She is completely potty trained, but seems to be testing us in her teenage years. If I dont notice she pees a little I will find her kidney beaned against me, nub going crazy, and her body shaking cuz she feels so bad. I know instantly what she has done and take her out immediately and praise her for going outside, when she gets back in she will sit in the corner for about 10 minutes with the saddest eyes glaring at me. It really is hilarious how smart these dogs are when they know they did something wrong.
After that 10 minutes she comes to me and apologizes with the lean that can knock a statue over and I gladly accept. Really, what other dog takes the time to apologize besides boxers! I love each and every one.

Diva tattles on herself. When she has done something she should not have, she will come up to me with the most adorable loving eyes and just rub up against me loving me. As soon as she does that, I know something happened, so I will say to her "Diva, what did you do???" When I say that, she jumps up on the couch and hides her face in the pillows - as if she is hiding and I can not see her.

LOL..just last night Spirit had an "accident" on the kitchen floor! I felt bad for him because I knew he had an upset tummy. Earlier in the day he got into a mess of garbage on the neighbors back porch (we share the same backyard). Anyway, he came running into the living room and went straight into his crate! Before I realized what he was doing, the smell hit me like a smack in the face!! Then he ran to the back door. Then he ran back to his crate. It was like "I did something wrong so I will hide here...but I still have to go so I'll go to the door to let mommy know...but I'm bad so I should stay here...but I REALLY have to go"!! Poor guy was so confused as to what he should do! He spent a good 20min. in the backyard trying to relieve himself of the nasty garbage he got into! When he came in I loved on him so he would know that it wasn't his fault his bowels had taken over! I gave him a bowl of white rice and he slept soundly for the rest of the night! :)

Roscoe knows he is wrong, but tries to get out of it by being cute. All I have to do is point at something like the bent blinds and ask him if he did this, and he will just roll over with all legs in the air. It is so cute and funny that it is had for me to not laugh at him.
